We are looking on behalf of our client, a well established company in the insurance industry in Gibraltar, for an Investment Accountant. This is a real opportunity within a FTSE 100 Group to shape systems and processes and be an integral part of the finance function in Gibraltar.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and posting of monthly journal postings for investments held by the Company.
- Perform control account reconciliations.
- Working closely with the Group’s Investments team to produce monthly investment income analysis and reports to relevant Boards and Committees.
- Supporting Investment decisions at a Group level by bringing an understanding of the accounting implications.
- Group reporting to parent company (half year, year-end).
- Preparation of year end statutory accounts and assistance with external audit.
- Submission of ad hoc regulatory returns.
- Provide additional general support and complete ad-hoc tasks as required.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified or part-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification, including ACA, ACCA and CIMA.
- Experience in accounting for investments under IFRS 9 would be preferable.
- Proven experience working within Financial Services
- Good knowledge of financial controls.
- Ideally trained in an external audit firm or with internal audit experience
- Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude towards work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
